MKMMA Week 7: “Do Diets Ever Work??”
Every week … no, every day there is a new diet on the horizon that promises that you will be that better version of yourself when you look in the mirror … How often are we disappointed by the outcome… “Today, almost everyone is aware of what foods they put into their mouths, but do not pay much attention to the thoughts they allow into their minds.”
MKMMA is a continuous diet of positive food, feeding your soul and inner self to become that better self and find true happiness … Each week builds on the previous one to make sure that we are getting a ‘balanced diet’ of positivity to feed our minds.
This week’s opportunity in MKMMA is the SEVEN-DAY MENTAL DIET. I think that it is a critical key to success that when we can see things from a positive vantage point only positive things can come into your life.
I’d like to share a little about the history of this life diet …
Dr. Emmet Fox was a Minister, Author, Teacher, Healer and Mystic and in 1935 shared in a small pamphlet: “The Seven Day Mental Diet.”
The theme of his work was that “Life is Consciousness” and we are what we think.
His focus was that if we want to change our life, first, we must change our thoughts. Our destiny is driven by our thoughts, words, and actions. The “Golden Key” is in everyone’s hands, of which “Love is by far the most important thing of all, and it is the golden gate of paradise. Pray for the understanding of Love, and meditate upon it daily. It casts out fear. It is the fulfilling of the law. Love is absolute invincible.” (Emmet Fox)
Have you ever tried to refrain from negative thinking for 7 days straight without a bad thought or action like resentment, frustration, worry, dread, regret, jealousy, disapproval, criticism, fear, anger, pessimism … the list goes on …
Rather only thoughts of love, joy, appreciation, laughter, excitement, curiosity, positive anticipation, peacefulness, acceptance, satisfaction, playfulness, knowing and allowing? Seeing with eyes and minds all the beauty around us!
Emmet Fox asked and asks of all of us to “Make up your mind to devote one week solely to the task of building a new habit of thought, and during that week let everything in life be unimportant as compared with that.” Wow, what a changed world we would see by doing this simple but demanding task in our lives … it is not a simple undertaking, though the benefits are untold.
When I start my Seven Day Diet, I will not tell you as per Emmet Fox’s direction. I may falter and have to start many times but I will be committed to achieving these seven days of positive action and reflection, this is my promise.
